Long-life LiFePOâ‚„ battery technology
The BASE 5.0-EB uses an automotive-grade lithium iron phosphate (LiFePOâ‚„) battery, chosen for long service life, thermal stability and strong performance under demanding loads.

Two link ports for daisy-chain expansion
The BASE 5.0-EB has two link ports: one to connect to your BASE 5.0 host (or another EB in the chain) and one to add a further BASE 5.0-EB. Once the linked units have balanced, the system shares both charging and discharge power across all connected batteries.

Charging
The BASE 5.0-EB only charges when linked to a BASE 5.0 host unit. Whichever charging method you use on the host — AC mains, solar, vehicle or generator — the host feeds charge to the BASE 5.0-EB through the link cable.
- AC charging (via host): approximately 3.5 hours from 0–100% when the host is connected to mains or maximum solar input
- Solar / renewable (via host): charges from the host’s MPPT controller at maximum renewable throughput
- No direct input on the EB: all charging is managed by the host unit
