Sherpa PEAK 3.0-Extra Battery
Smart 3072Wh expansion battery with built-in MPPT and DC outputs
The PEAK 3.0-EB is a user-friendly Smart Extra Battery designed to add serious energy storage to your PEAK 2.2 system. Unlike a passive add-on, it carries its own MPPT controller, accepts direct solar and DC input, and powers your devices straight from its own USB and XT60 outputs — so it earns its keep on the road, on site or in temporary home backup.
Built for serious, scalable power
Designed for commercial and leisure vehicles, professional fieldwork and temporary home backup. Plug it into a PEAK 2.2, daisy-chain a second EB, and you’ve built a 7,680Wh system that can run for days off-grid.
- Adds 3072Wh per unit to a PEAK 2.2 system
- Link up to 2 EB units with one PEAK 2.2 host for 7680Wh total
- Accepts solar, wind DC and hydroelectric DC input via its own MPPT
- Charge and discharge simultaneously — keep working while the sun tops you up
Long-life LiFePO₄ battery technology
The PEAK 3.0-EB uses an automotive-grade lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO₄) battery, chosen for long service life, thermal stability and strong performance under demanding loads.
Scale up to 7,680Wh with the PEAK 2.2
Each PEAK 3.0-EB adds 3072Wh of usable storage. Link up to two units alongside a PEAK 2.2 host and your total system reaches 7,680Wh — enough for extended off-grid stays, multi-day worksite power or whole-evening home backup.
- Add one EB for nearly triple the capacity of the PEAK 2.2 alone
- Add a second EB for the full 7,680Wh maximum system
- Move expansion batteries to a different room or vehicle if needed — they don’t have to sit next to the host
- Compatible only with the PEAK 2.2 host unit
3 DC output ports for direct device power
Self-regulating smart-charge ports let you power and charge multiple DC devices straight from the EB — no host unit required for DC output use.
- 1 × USB-A: 5V / 9V / 12V, max 18W — phones, tablets, action cameras
- 1 × USB-C: 5V / 9V / 12V, max 100W — laptops, fast-charge tablets and phones
- 1 × XT60 port: 12V / 30A — diesel heaters, DC fridges, 12V tools and high-draw DC devices
Total DC output: 30A / 360W max. Ideal for camping fridges, diesel heaters, DC lighting, laptops and the daily charging mix you’d expect on an off-grid trip.
Multiple charging options — including direct solar
The built-in MPPT charge controller accepts a wide range of DC inputs, so you can recharge the EB on its own from renewable sources, top up from a vehicle, or push AC mains charge through the host unit.
- AC charging (via PEAK 2.2 host): ~4 hours from 0–100% with the host plugged into mains
- Solar & renewable DC: ~7–8 hours from 0–100% via the unit’s own MPPT (12–95V, 400W max input)
- Vehicle 12V: trickle charge while travelling using the supplied car charge cable
- AC-DC adapter accessory (sold separately): charge directly from a wall socket without the host
Advanced battery management & safety
The integrated Battery Management System (BMS) monitors operating conditions and limits unsafe behaviour throughout the charge and discharge cycle.
- Overheating protection
- Overload protection
- Short-circuit protection
- Over-voltage and low-voltage protection
- Deep-discharge limiting to preserve battery longevity
- Active temperature monitoring during charge and discharge
